Maria Drozdz's journey as an architect and artist is characterized by a passionate pursuit of creative expression. Born in Karlskrona, Sweden in 1994, Maria's early years were marked by a deep connection to art and architecture from childhood. Raised in Karlshamn before her family moved to Varberg, Maria's formative years were shaped by curiosity and fascination with the interplay of light and shadow, the intricate details of nature, and the elegant symmetry of architectural masterpieces. These experiences laid the foundation for her artistic journey, igniting a lifelong fascination with drawing, architecture, and the natural world.

In 2017, Maria moved to Malmö, Sweden, to pursue her architectural studies. Her studies later took her to Copenhagen and the Royal Danish Academy, where she developed a particular interest in architecture, architectural preservation, and the relationship between buildings, history, and their surroundings.

Alongside architecture, drawing has always been an important part of Maria's creative practice. During her studies, she continued to develop her skills in pencil drawing, encouraged by her teachers to explore beyond the boundaries of her architectural work. Over time, this became a natural meeting point between her two disciplines.

Maria's drawings are characterized by precision, detail, depth, and a strong appreciation for light and shadow. Her subjects range from architecture and interiors to wildlife and objects, often focusing on the small details that give a subject its character. Working primarily in pencil allows her to explore texture, form, and dimension in a slow and deliberate way.
Her work moves between the built and the natural world. Architectural drawings reflect her professional background, while her wildlife and other subjects offer a different way of observing form, structure, and detail. Across both, there is a common interest in capturing the character and quiet presence of the subject.

Maria's work has previously been represented and sold through NOA Gallery, Sweden's largest online gallery at the time. Today, she works as an architect while continuing her artistic practice alongside her professional work, with original drawings and limited-edition fine art prints available through her website.
